HEED 3 TROUBLESHOOTING


If HEED 3 is leaking, most situations require sending in unit for service. There are, however, a few situations that you may troubleshoot / replace a part yourself after doing a water test to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. Parts are available for purchase at ssishoppingcart.com.

Check Valve Refill Port unscrews from regulator or is stuck in refill adapter

1. Refill Port loosened over time
2. Refill adapter overtightened
3. Bleed ring/screw not opened after filling

Replace Refill Port, lubricate threads regularly & re-tighten with hex key periodically

Air leaking during refilling from adapter

Not closing bleed screw or not bleeding air in adapter after filling

Re-read Page 5 refill instructions and try filling again following each step

Air leaking from center of Refill Port

Refill Port internal O-ring / Stem failure

Replace Refill Port

Air leaking between tank and regulator

Tank O-ring failure

Empty unit, unscrew regulator and inspect tank o-ring. If o-ring is in good condition, reinstall & hand-tighten. If o-ring is damaged, replace o-ring.

HEED 3 is not showing full after filling from SCUBA Tank

SCUBA filling tank was not full to 3000 psi in order to completely fill HEED 3

Fill Scuba tank to capacity and fill HEED 3 again
